- Choose your path through history! Join the Albany County Historical Association | Ten Broeck Mansion in celebrating Path Through History on Saturday October 11 from 11 am -4 pm.
- The free tours provide the opportunity to stop at 5 historic sites and museums open for the tour.As participants travel by foot, bike, or car, they may also learn about up to 40 additional wayside historic sites along the various routes, plus a special guide to Revolutionary War sites in Albany County. Bicycle, walking, and shorter tour options available. All programs are free.
Join us for an exploration of the rich and diverse history of Albany County by choosing your path to explore. There will be driving, walking, and biking options.
How to participate:
1 ) Click here to register for the tour. If you have having trouble registering, please call our office (Tuesday-Saturday) 518-436-9826.
2) Plan your day! We suggest starting your tour at the Ten Broeck Mansion but you may start at any historic site along the route. Each historic site will be open from 11 am- 4 pm. You will be emailed maps about a week before the event.

3) Special events at participating sites:
- Watervliet Historical Society – Special talk by Tom Ragosta, Board President at 1 pm: “Boats and Boatmen on the Canal” in commemoration of the completion of the Erie Canal.
4) Special events at the Ten Broeck Mansion from 11 am -4 pm (park in our free Livingston Avenue lot):
- Village Volunteers Fife & Drum Corps will play on the Ten Broeck Mansion grounds at 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, and 2:30 pm.
- Free full-length tours1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm (pre-registration recommended via our tours page).
- Free walk-through tours from 11 am – 1 pm.
- Meet historians and local history organizations
- Free family art kits & self-guided garden discovery tours
- Ten Broeck Museum Shop open 11am – 4 pm: books & fine locally made artisan goods

- 12 noon: Marietta Carr, Schenectady County Historical Society Librarian/Archivist, Archives Discoveries of the Revolution
- 1 pm: Tyler Warman, NYS Museum, The Gunboat at Ground Zero: A Revolutionary War Mystery
- 2 pm: Kathryn Kosto, Albany County Historical Association Executive Director, New Faces of Liberty: Founders & Freedom in Revolutionary Era Art of Albany County
